Those who read the various obits of Kenny Davern, no doubt saw references to
Davern's oft repeated remark that Louis Armstrong was a primary influence on
the way Davern played clarinet.

And surely you can hear it in Davern's phrasing, attack, etc. And in his
playing in quartets and/or quintets where he was the only horn. Pee Wee
Russell is there too and together, with Kenny's originality and countless
hours of playing, they helped produce a giant.
