Hi GJB Fans,

WE WERE COOKING IN WESTPORT Sun July 15th 7-8:30PM!! What a great venue, what
a great evening! It threatened rain, but we only got a few drops. The sky
cleared, and the GJB ripped into Bourbon Street Parade at the Levitt
Pavillion in Westport, CT with trombonist Neil DeFeo and banjo player/vocalist Bob
Price. This was our first time at this fabulous venue, and we're anxious to
return! It was a great evening, highlighted by Neil DeFeo's rendition of
'Getting Sentimental Over You', Bob Price's rendition of 'The Flight of the Bumble
Bee', and ending with a New Orleans parade to 'The Saints', and our theme song,
'Do You Know What it Means…'! What a great crowd! What a fun evening!
Check out their web site, www.levittpavillion.com, or call 203-226-7600 for
details regarding other performances.

ONLY TWO WEEKSAWAY!
July 27-29, The Great Connecticut Traditional Jazz Festival, Moodus, CT. Go
to www.ctjazz.org for details. We'll be there with Bob Price (banjo), Jane
Campedelli (vocals), Ben Griffin (trombone, Friday only), and Herb Gardner
(trombone Sat and Sun)! And so will the Blue Street Jazz Band, the Midiri
Brothers, the Bearcats Jazz Band, the Heartbeat Jazz Band, Igor's Jazz Cowboys, the
Wolverine Jazz Band, the CT Festival All Stars, Swing 39, Sarah Spencer,
Washboard Slim, and Art Hovey's Youth Jazz Band! WOW, what a line up! It all
starts on Friday, July 27th at 3PM, and ends at the finale on Sunday 4-5PM.
The GJB will be hosting the Finale, and we guarantee an exciting finish to a
great weekend of Jazz!

SUNDAYS at Marisa's in Trumbull! We'll see you again on Sunday, Sep 9th,
6-8:30, once again with Jane Campedelli, and trombonist Harvey Tibbs! Be sure to
make your reservations early, like yesterday! Remember, there is no cover
or minimum at Marisa's, but because the food is fabulous, you're going to want
to order dinner. Marisa's is very easy to get to: take the Merritt Parkway
toward Trumbull, get off at Exit 48, head north for about 3 miles, and it's on
your right. This is a good size restaurant, with plenty of seating and
parking. From Guilford, it took me only 35 minutes to get there. Marisa's
address is 6540 Main Street, Trumbull, CT 06611. The telephone number is
203-459-4225. Call now, before it sells out again! Only one other date scheduled
for 2007, Sunday, Oct 21st!

The Beachhead Restaurant, 3 Cosey Beach Ave East Haven, CT. We're doing it
again! We'll be back on Sunday, Sep 30th, 6-8:30PM. Call 203-469-5450 for
dinner reservations right away. This is a great spot, with great food, but
limited seating, so make your dinner reservation now!! And yes, the owners have
promised to make room for dancing this time! Check out the Beachhead's web site,
beachheadct.com.

Bill Logozo's Heartbeat Jazz Band will be at Olivers in Essex on Thursday,
August 2nd, 7-10PM, with Skip Hughes and Bob Price! This is a great spot, nice
atmosphere, and good food at a reasonable price. Of course the music is hot
hot hot! Dancing too! Look for them at Olivers the first Thursday of each
month. Contact Bill Logozzo at Bill @nutmegchrome.com for information on the
band and how to order CDs.

OTHER GJB DATES TO JOT DOWN:

Sat Aug 11th, 6:30-8:30PM (Please note the new time this year), Music MT
concert, Falls Village, CT., with Jim Fryer and Bob Price. If you've never been
to Music Mountain, please check it out this year. They have a picnic area
right on the grounds surrounding the venue. You can bring supper and picnic
before the music starts. The grounds are beautiful, as is the scenic drive
there. The venue itself is like an old church, with comfortable, padded pews.
And, because the acoustics are so good, we always record the performance and
produce a CD, that you can be a part of! The band gets paid based on
attendance, so your support is EXTRA APPRECIATED! Call 203-496-2596 for details.

Wed Aug 15th, 7-8PM, free concert at Ashlar Village, Newtown, CT., with
Harvey Tibbs and Bob Price.

Sat Sep 8th 8PM, special concert in New Jersey with Jim Fryer and Jane
Campedelli! This is Bruce Gast's 14th season putting on 'Jazz in Bridgewater'
concerts, and we're happy to be closing out the series for him this year. Midiri
Brothers July 21st. Check out www.SCUW.org for ticket prices and details on
the entire series.

~November 16-18, Suncoast Dixieland Jazz Classic, Clearwater Beach, Floprida.
Go to www.jazzclassic.net. We won't be there this year, but go anyway as
the band lineup is fabulous! We hope to be back in 2008!
