Hi GJB Fans,

Sad News: Long time fan Bill Oaks passed away on October 30th, after a very
brief bout with cancer. Bill was 80 years old. There will be a memorial
service for Bill on Sunday, November 18th at 2PM at the First Church of Christ,
61 Main Street, Unionville, CT. Go to www.firstchurchunionville.org for
directions. Bill was a wonderful, dedicated fan that loved and really
appreciated good New Orleans Jazz. He followed the Galvanized Jazz Band from Florida
to Maine! He was also a fine bass player. I remember, many years ago,
Bill and I played at a memorial service for a fan that had passed on. We're
going to miss you Bill.

The Hot Steamed Jazz Festival is set for 2008! Mark your calendars for June
27, 28 and 29. We'll be there along with a host of other talented musicians for
another great weekend of traditional jazz. For more information about the
festival and to order tickets, log on to www.hotsteamedjazz.com. If you would
like to receive updates directly from The Hot Steamed Jazz Festival, send an
email to info at hotsteamedjazz.com and ask to be added to their email distribution
list. From the Director: “The holiday season is almost upon us and festival
tickets make great holiday gifts. Order soon to ensure you receive tickets in
time to put under the tree or in the stockings!”

A CD RELEASE PARTY! OUR FIRST!

We're shooting for Sunday, December 9th at the Beachhead, but details have
not been finalized yet, so please stay tuned. We're very excited though,
because this latest Galvanized Jazz Band CD release is absolutely fabulous. We're
talking about the Howard Alden-Dirck Spicer-Noel Kaletsky CD from a Jan 1,
1984 Millpond Tavern session! It's called 'AIRMAIL SPECIAL', and boy is it
special. I get goose bumps when I listen to it! The energy level is
incredible. We'll keep you posted regarding the CD Release Party, so don't call for
reservations just yet. I can tell you that seating will be limited so you can
be assured of good service; we also need room for the 7-piece band! The
Beachhead is very aware that some of you didn't get the service you deserved at our
last Sunday performance, and they're going to do whatever is necessary to
correct that. One more thing, this CD will be available at the CD Release
Party, but not before, so if you order prior to that, it will be mailed to you
after the CD Release Party, if there are any left!

Bill Logozzo's Heartbeat Jazz Band will be at Olivers in Essex on Thursday,
Nov 8th, 7-10PM, with Skip Hughes ! This is a great spot, nice casual
atmosphere, and good food at a reasonable price. Of course the music is hot hot hot!
Dancing too! Look for them at Olivers usually on the first Thursday of
each month. Contact Bill Logozzo at Bill @nutmegchrome.com for information on
the band and how to order CDs.

SUNDAYS at Marisa's in Trumbull!
We'll be back on Sunday, Jan 20th, 6-8:30! Remember, there is no cover or
minimum at Marisa's, but because the food is fabulous, you're going to want to
order dinner. There's dancing too! Marisa's is very easy to get to: take
the Merritt Parkway toward Trumbull, get off at Exit 48, head north for about
3 miles, and it's on your right. This is a good size restaurant, with plenty
of seating and parking, and a nice dance floor too. Marisa's address is
6540 Main Street, Trumbull, CT 06611. This sells out fast, so make your
reservations now. The telephone number is 203-459-4225.

Beachhead (East Haven, CT) Future performances to be announced, stay tuned.
~November 16-18, Suncoast Dixieland Jazz Classic, Clearwater Beach, Florida.
Go to www.jazzclassic.net. We won't be there.
this year, but go anyway as the band lineup is fabulous, including DR John
Clark's Wolverine Jazz Band! We hope to be back in 2008!
