             This is sad and worrysome news. I hope for better news in the 
progress report you promised.
             I won't bother Bruce direct, but when you're in touch with him, 
please assure him and Lynn that Betty and I are most concerned for him, and 
send him our love and hopes for a swift and comfortable recovery.
